  • Acquire the Fundamentals of Management - mandatory courses

emlyon business school’s campus, adjacent to Institut Paul Bocuse is home to 4,100 students hailing from more than 80 nationalities. These international surroundings provide you with the ideal environment to take international management classes, taught by a faculty that consists of over 40% non-French nationals. 

Solid knowledge in marketing, management, operations management, strategy or finance, is key to successfully navigate the variety of business models that make the global hospitality industry so unique. As part of your learning experience and to help you master the complexity and unique structure of hospitality-based business models - part real-estate investment, part business operation, part concept design -, you will benefit from a series of adapted elective courses tailor-made to your academic background and skills.

Alongside the mandatory fundamental courses and after discussion with the pedagogical faculty you will choose minimum one and maximum two elective courses per track and per semester. Only the first two semesters of the program will offer this tailor-made approach and students will choose their courses among two tracks available during each semester. 

- Semester 1 (October to December):

*Courses offered in Track 1: Diversity Management, Team Management, Managing Service Quality
*Courses offered in Track 2: Hospitality Marketing Management, Electronic Marketplace, Service Design

- Semester 2 (January to March):

*Courses offered in Track 1: Revenue Management, Environment & EcoTourism, Service Experience
*Courses offered in Track 2: Meetings & Events Management, Advanced Wine Knowledge, Project Management

- Semester 3 (April to June): this semester will take place on emlyon business school's - Shanghai campus. There are no elective courses for this semester. More information available here
